Will Ekta Kapoor’s Mahabharat have the famous K-factor?

India :

Yes, there is a K. It goes Kahani something blah blah Mahabharat. I hope K-influence on kahani (story) just ends there. Or else the creative heads of Ekta Kapoor will end up changing the storyline itself to improve TRPs!!!

I hope the soul and essence of Mahabharat, the great Indian epic doesn’t get lost or is compromised for the sake of TRPs. Balaji camp is famous for sloppy melodramatic soaps with never ending and repeating storyline. They don’t have full-stop in their grammer or dictionary. I hope this K (Keep going) factor doesn’t drag the epic into total melodrama and boredom.

This professional media house should realize that in the era of TV and internet, the young generations all over India will probably know Mahabharat only from how it is depicted in the serial. It is a big responsibility to put across the nuances and philosophy of Mahabharat in a serial format. This is not a typical Saas-Bahu saga. Characters in Mahabharat are not black and white. There are all kinds of colours and shades. This epic defines our philosophy and culture.

Going by the promos, it doesn’t seem to be any different from other soaps from Balaji camp. Mahabharat doesn’t need enhanced special effects. Nor does it need famous sound and light effects of thunder and lighting and rotating cameras, zooming in and zooming out, freezing etc. Hope they are made to pass thro’ the censor board.

The classics have to be treated in a classy style. Hope K-team shows some respect to the Indian epic.

Ya...I too hope that they come out of K hangover !!! it would be really stupid if they do something like that.
There is nothing wrong in using advanced techniques. But they have to be carefully done. The promos looked like a 2nd class copy of 300.
One needs to do proper research before making epics and historical films. Unfortunately it was never done in India except for Chanakya.

I dont why the hell does Ekta Kapoor has to gte her head into something as eternal as the Mhabharat? She is well-off with the saas bahu serials, why try it hard?

I hope someone stops them in tracks before they go ahead make epics look like typical TV serials with saas-bahu saga and extramarital affair thrown in...
Where are people from Ministry of Cultures?

Whether we like it or not…Ekta Kapoor knows the pulse of the masses…, but yes, one hopes the creative team in Balaji realize that it cannot be potrayed like a regular saas-bahu serial.

Well, all I can say is dat we should all pray that Mahabharat remains Mahabharat...and not become Kahabharat.. with a couple of extra alphabets stuffed in!!

There goes another epic down the drain....

I’m sure she is going to put more emphasize on the ”family affairs” and ”conspiracies” of the epic. You can expect a fight between wives of all those kings and princess.
And yes, Pitamah Bhisma’s beard will never turn grey...:P

May have the K-Factor. Maybe it will be titled - Kyon Ki Bharat Ka Yeh Mahabharat. LOL.... I guess she has dropped the 'K' fixation and concentrating on other alphabets. She is such a superstitious bitch.

Oh c’mon... Mahabharata is like the ultimate Indian soap opera of all times... its got everything Ms. K likes and more...

and as for the ”cinematographic techniques” Ekta so overuses in her soaps, they probably began with the Ramayanas and the Mahabharataa themselves so I’m guessing she wont be killing the epics there at all...

I just hope she manages to kill Duryodhana in the end because seriously, i dont think i can bear him coming back from the dead like ten times!! lollzzz
