This owl tattoo does not look like a owl, but more like a mechine. A uniform bar pattern. Owl is linked with bad luck and scary atmosphere, ghostly atmoshere. How can one love to ink it on her body? Tattoo is not meant for the lovers only, it’s for all, old and young alike.

The owl today symbolizes wisdom, which it did for the ancient Greeks as a BIRD that was sacred to the goddess Athena. In addition, though, it was also traditionally associated with its nocturnal hunting activity and known as a messenger of death or a conductor of souls in cultures as diverse as the Algonquin Indians of North America, the pre-Inca Peruvian Chimu of South America, and in ancient Egypt. As with many large birds, tattoo artwork is sometimes lavishly detailed when it comes to the owl, whether done in black line or color, showing the owl in flight or perched. Indeed, its quietly staring pose is perhaps one source of its association with knowledge and insight.
The owl, like many other animals that inhabited the Pacific Northwest, was used as a crest figure in many types of design. In some Northwestern cultures like the Haida, perhaps because it appears at night with silent flight and makes an eerie call, it is associated with death and the souls of the departed, particularly the souls of ancestors. In the typically abstract and highly stylized designs of this region, the owl has large, round eyes and a sharp, short beak. Tattoo Design www.tattoobody.org
